So last night we last night we experienced our first storm!

After skipping lunch/thinking I'll get it later (all those that know me understand this is not ususal) to be a patient for Gudny's first exam, we all headed to the bar. I mean what else is there to do when Gudny was in the 4th group and I was a subject for the first. A liquid lunch was had in the form of pitchers of beer, or jugs as the Aussies like to call them. We seemed to just get more on the table as the next influx of relieved students came out of the exam and headed to the bar. When it began to get dark and Ostar (Icleandic name, but am sure have spelt it totally wrong) started to ask if I was hungry we headed to Nandoo's for some tea. Gudny, Thorvaldur (Ostars fiancee) and myself looked on in great amusement as Ostar pointed out first to the waitress, and then to a boss where was her avocado on her burger, as she and none of us could find it! The boss soon came back holding a bottle of mayonnaise and said it had avocado in it and was used like a spread! He still tried to convince us that this white sauce had a tint of green in it, but quickly eased Ostar by giving her a lot more sauce!:) I thought lets try the hot sauce on my chicken, with a bit of hot sauce on the side for my chips, but boy was that a mistake....my mouth was killing and Gudny found this funny as I never find things hot:)

Anyway...storm. We arrived home to the first drops of rain and lightning lighting up the sky in the distance. We thought nothing of it and went to sleep with the occasional flash of light outside. But this is the first time ligthning and thunder has woken me up! I wondered what the hell was happening as you could actually feel the rumbles of thunder travel through the flat and boy it was loud! Now I understand that over here they dont do things by half!

I just hope Gudny was not too wet travelling to Uni!
